Tasting Notes
Jasper Morris – 91-93
Seven plots. Clear pale lemon and lime colour. The bouquet is nicely balanced, fruit rather than oak, and correct maturity. For once this works over and above the St-Aubin 1ers crus. In fact, it is a superb example of a Chassagne-Montrachet from white wine terroir, with a valuable austerity. I like this a lot
Burghound – 90
(Outstanding Top value) There is a touch of resin character to the ripe aromas of poached pear, citrus rind and discreet spice wisps. There is excellent punch to the delicious and caressing middle weight flavors that exude an almost bracing salinity on the clean, very dry and impressively complex and lengthy finish. This isn’t especially refined though neither is it rustic and overall, this is a very good Chassagne villages that is worthy of consideration.
