Burghound – 89-91
Outstanding – Firm reduction renders the nose tough to assess in its present condition. The velvety, rich and generously proportioned medium-bodied flavors coat the palate with dry extract that also buffers the firm yet reasonably pliant tannins shaping the lingering finish where the only nit is a hint of warmth. This will need only a few years before it could be approached. Worth a look. (Drink starting 2026)
Jasper Morris – 89-92
Haut Maizières and Violettes, vinified together as there are in total only four barrels. Rich royal purple in colour, the Vosne-Romanée is rather reduced on the nose. No matter, because there is a ripe and even dark fruit right across the palate, with juice and some fine tannins to finish, robust and promising.
