The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Damodes 1er Cru comes from a 0.70-hectares parcel of 40- to 70-year-old vines adjacent to Vosne-Romanée Réas on a steep slope that helps with drainage. It has an intense bouquet with pure red cherries, wild strawberry and violet aromas – as expected, much more Vosne than Nuits Saint-Georges. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. This becomes more floral with aeration, hints of violet emerging with firm tannins, fine grip with a bright finish. Give this 2-3 years in bottle.
