Seven barrels (from almost 2 ha). 50% whole bunch and main stem removed from 50% of the fruit (the Leroy technique). This was undertaken because the fruit is dense and Perrot-Minot wants to ‘decompact’ it. Cask sample. Very rich and sumptuous but lots of minerality too. Really very special. Bristles with life! Saline.
Anticipated maturity: 2027-2050

Invariably one of Perrot-Minot’s finest wines, the 2019 Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru lives up to expectations, mingling aromas of wild berries and rose petals with hints of orange rind, exotic spices and beetroot. Medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, it’s layered and velvety, with considerably incipient complexity and enough powdery tannin to balance the sucrosity of fruit that characterizes this ripe vintage.
