Tasting Notes
Jasper Morris – 92-94
Damien Colin is much more of a fan of Chatenière now that he has this particular plot to work with. Pale colour with the lightest of green tints. The nose is graceful and classy, with a sense of more weight behind. Really quite a lot more fruit weight here, admirable tension, a few apples dancing at the finish, bravo. Very good weight behind.
Burghound – 91
Here too there is enough reduction to blur the nuances of what appear to be ripe orchard fruit and citrus whiffs. By contrast, there is excellent freshness and terrific intensity to the sappy and mineral-suffused medium-bodied flavors that possess a touch of natural sweetness on the sappy and lingering finale. La Chatenière tends to drink well young, old and in between and this will likely do the same.
