Very old vines (aged over 100 years). Cask sample. Smudgy mid cherry red. If I had this blind, I might have been further south in the Côte d’Or. It has such lovely red fruit with just a touch of Nuits darker fruit. Very lightly spiced, subtle oak. Firmer tannins than on the Evocelles and yet they are refined. Just a little chewy on the finish with real depth and yet very little weight. Superb balance. (JH)
