Higher vineyard than most, facing south-east. ‘Marnes calcaires – terres blanches.’ Low-vigour vines here. Theirs were planted 1931, some replanted 2002. Some of the young vines go into the village Chambolle. Unracked cask sample. Fine and fresh – much more refreshing than the Combottes. Quite racy and a lovely energetic halfway house between ripeness and structure. Vibrates on the finish.
