Tasting Notes
Vinous – 93-95
From the domaine’s largest parcel, at 1.07 hectares, and planted in the 1950s, the 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Hameau de Blagny 1er Cru has a complex bouquet of lemon thyme and honeysuckle, touches of basalt coming through with time. The palate is very harmonious with quince jus on the entry and a little more spiciness on the finish compared to the La Garenne. A lovely blood orange note lingers on the aftertaste. Another delicious and cerebral 2019 from Domaine de Chérisey.
Anticipated maturity: 2023-2043
Jasper Morris – 90-93
Pale lemon colour, with a nicely perfumed nose. There was a long slow fermentation and this still has a little more gas. Excellent intensity here on the palate, a mix of ripe citrus and light passion fruit, just the right body, lifted fresher finish, a really appealing perfumed citrus note to finish.
