Tasting Notes
Jasper Morris – 92-95
The upper part is colluvial gravel, while the bottom of the slope is on much deeper clay. The Arlaud holding covers both. Solid dense purple. Fresh black cherry and mulberry without being too rich. An explosion of fruit runs through the middle, some acidity, stays poised though the fruit profile suggests over richness. Pretty stunning again.
Burghound – 90-93
Firm reduction dominates the nose today. By contrast, there is very good freshness to the bigger, richer and more powerful medium weight flavors that possess very good mid-palate density, indeed this is almost opulent, yet the natural muscle of a fine Millandes is on display, particularly on the compact, serious and youthfully austere finale.
