Tasting Notes
Burghound – 91
(Outstanding) Once again there is an overtly floral character to the primarily white orchard fruit suffused aromas. There is a wonderfully textured, even seductive, mouthfeel to the muscular yet refined middle weight plus flavors that brim with dry extract that also serves to buffer the moderately firm acid spine shaping the nicely persistent if linear finale. This does however need to develop more depth so I would suggest allowing it at least a few years of bottle age first.
Jasper Morris – 92
Pure clean pale lemon. A little waxiness on the nose, discreet oaking, finely balanced. Perhaps the oak is a mite too prominent but is unlikely to dry out the fruit. Good length. Not ready for another 3 to 5 years. The wine gets better in the glass as the fruit comes out from behind the oak.
