Tasting Notes
Jasper Morris – 92-94
50% whole bunch and 25% new wood. Rich dense purple, one of the more concentrated wines in the cellar. Ripe dark raspberry this is very well balanced for a Chambolle and fills all parts of the palate equally. A little bit of dry tannin at the back but well incorporated within the fruit, a Chambolle success.
Burghound – 91-94
This is aromatically restrained to the point of being almost mute though aggressive swirling eventually coaxes the ripe aromas of cassis, violet and soft spice nuances to reveal themselves. The delicious, sleek and vibrant middle weight flavors are even more refined with a beguiling succulence to the rich, well-detailed and sneaky long finish that is shaped by quite fine-grained tannins. This too is absolutely lovely.
