Vinous – 93
The 2017 Musigny Grand Cru comes from the domaine’s 0.21 hectares of vine. Similar to the Bonnes-Mares in style, it takes time to open on the nose and is a little reluctant to perform from barrel, coming across broody and almost saturnine. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin and quite saline in the mouth, and the finish exhibits a light seaweed, almost briny note. Not bad, although it needs a tad more complexity and nuance considering the reputation of where it comes from.
