Tasting Notes

Partly his own vines now. 100% new oak. Barrel sample ” already racked from barrel to barrel. Delicate aroma at once dark-fruited and rocky, crushed rocks. Darkly, elegantly fragrant. Dry, the tannins paper-fine. All in elegance even though the fruit is fully, darkly ripe. Again there is a hint of oak sweetness but very much in the background. Builds to a chewy but generously fruited finish. Excellent harmony in a baby wine. Lots of freshness within the powerful framework. (JH)
