Balanced, smooth, perhaps a little indistinct. Doesn’t seem to have the same depth of flavour as usual, although to be fair I tasted Clos des Papes immediately beforehand! Generic bramble fruit, soft tannins, moderate length. (RH) [01/09/2021]

Now sold out at the winery, Guigal’s 2017 Cotes du Rhone will no doubt still be in various international markets for some time to come. It’s a charming, easy-to-drink wine, loaded with cherry and berry fruit. Medium to full-bodied, it delivers enough weight, spicy complexity and mouthwatering length to please most consumers.
