Tasting Notes
Burghound – 92
(Outstanding) An intensely floral-suffused nose grudgingly reveals its aromas of spice, herbal tea, earth and wafting red currant. There is excellent size, weight and power to the muscular yet unusually refined flavors thanks to the fine-grained tannins that are dense enough to coat the palate on the impressively long if youthfully austere finale. This well-detailed effort should age gracefully over the mid-term.
Vinous – 92+
Good medium red Cool aromas of blackberry, licorice and minerals are complemented by sexy oak tones Intense, penetrating flavors of purple fruits and salty minerality are classically dry and quite backward Dense and palate-staining but, like the Aux Thorey, this will need time in bottle to reveal its personality The yield here was a full 45 hectoliters per hectare
Anticipated maturity: 2023-2032
