Tasting Notes
Vinous – 90
Pale, bright red. Inviting perfume of raspberry, mocha, coffee, brown spices and wild herbs. Sweet and supple but vibrant too, with harmonious acidity framing the flavors of raspberry, pepper and fresh herbs. Finishes with nicely refined tannins. This is just over 12% alcohol.
Anticipated maturity: 2018-2025
Burghound – 88
An ultra-fresh and airy nose reveals notes of tea, white flowers, red currant and earth. There is good detail and punch to the vibrant and saline-inflected medium weight flavors that culminate in a complex, mouth coating and mildly austere, rustic and linear finish.
John Gilman – 91
The transparency and fidelity of terroir that characterizes the 2013 vintage is very much evident in the Domaine Dujac Morey AC this year, which may well be the finest example of this bottling I have tasted in a couple of decades of visiting here. The beautiful bouquet wafts from the glass in a blend of cherries, red plums, coffee, fresh herb tones, gamebirds and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is fullish, long and intensely flavored, with fine focus and grip, moderate tannins, incipient sappiness at the core and a long, vibrant and classy finish. This is really lovely juice in 2013.
Anticipated maturity: 2018-2040
