Tasting Notes
Burghound – 87-89
There is a bit of wood toast on the otherwise attractive nose of black cherry, spice and earth scents. There is exceptionally good richness to the suave and velvety flavors that culminate in a palate coating finish of good but not special depth and length. Compared to the better wines in the range this does not have the same level of energy and while not heavy, it isn’t lively.
Vinous – 88
Full medium red. Ripe redcurrant, liquorice and mint on the nose. The creamy red berry flavors show a slightly liqueur-like quality but good life and a minty nuance as well. Finishes with firm, building tannins.
