Tasting Notes
Burghound – 91-93
100% new wood was used in 2012 and it shows as the oak fights somewhat with the otherwise ultra-spicy and pure red currant, anise and cinnamon suffused nose. As is the case with the Vosne villages there is a sophisticated mouth feel to the more obviously mineral-driven middle weight flavors thanks to the very fine grain of the supporting tannins on the balanced, long and impressively harmonious finish. My predicted range assumes that the wood will be successfully integrated.
