Vinous – 89.5
(this was the last 2011 to be bottled, in July of 2013): Good dark red. Reticent aromas of blackberry, menthol and earth. Then ripe, sweet and dense, with a creamier mouthfeel than the Chambolle and lovely spicy depth. The menthol quality returns on the firmly tannic, slightly dusty finish. Has serious spine for a 2011. Cecile Tremblay told me that 2011 was the most complicated harvest of the past four years, requiring a very careful triage.
