Tasting Notes
Burghound – 92-95
A moderate lashing of wood frames a ripe nose of green apple, anise, stone and dried rose petal. There is excellent size, weight and power to the tautly muscular broad-shouldered flavors that brim with mouth coating dry extract. Like several wines in the range this is borderline painfully intense as the explosive finish both stains the palate and seems to go on and on because as soon as it seems to have died out it returns. This can’t quite match the sheer class of the Chevalier but this is a better choice if power and richness are your turn ons.
