Vinous – 92-95
(two new barrels out of three made, from a crop level of 24 hectoliters per hectare): Red-ruby. Pure but subdued aromas of dark berries, medicinal herbs, licorice, black pepper and tar. Dense on entry, then seamless and concentrated in the middle, with a cherry clafouti flavor lifted by a peppery element. Conveys a powerful, saline impression of extract but there’s nothing dry about this wine. At once thick and lively, finishing with noble tannins and outstanding unfolding complexity and length. A powerful expression of soil.
