Tasting Notes
Robert Parker – 91
Quince, pineapple, honeydew melon, honeysuckle, and heliotrope generously and decadently scent the 2007 Grange des Peres white, which exhibits a correspondingly luscious palate and inner-mouth perfume. There is an almost confectionary aspect to the finish, with almond paste and vanilla notes joining the almost gaudy recessional of fruit. Given how extroverted this is, I cannot repress my skepticism concerning whether it will benefit from being held for more than another year or two, but perhaps it has structure as well as a range of follow-up flavors that will surprise me, as is certainly its author’s belief.
