Robert Parker – 92.5
A deep hue similar to the Echezeaux. A very tight, minerally nose with violets and blueberry, with a touch of creme de cassis developing. Well-integrated vanillary new oak. Full-bodied, again spicy palate: assertive and tannic. Does not quite have the harmony of the Echezeaux but masses of concentration and very pure with a lively minerally finish. Firm grip on the persistency finish. Long-term wine. Impressive. Drinking 2012-2020. Tasted January 2007.Â

Good deep ruby-red. Black fruits, redcurrant, smoke, minerals and nuts on the complex, soil-driven nose. Voluminous, silky and round, with the impression of soil character carrying through in the mouth; complicating notes of game and leather. A very rich and satisfying wine with a long, broad finish featuring dusty tannins. More noteworthy for its sheer size than for its cut and precision. "Drink this now or over the next 30 years," says Gros.
