An earthy yet elegant nose combining red and blueberry fruit plus hints of violets and spice that complements the supple, sweet and imposingly complex flavors that are textured and possess a lovely inner mouth perfume, all wrapped in a sappy and firmly structured but long finish. Like the GE, this is not a blockbuster in style but rather a refined young Bonnes Mares, even by the usually elegant standards of this house. [01/04/2006]
