Tasting Notes
Vinous – 92
Similar full red color. Much less expressive on the nose than the Echezeaux and a bit less pristine; hints of violet and nuts. Then fuller and sweeter in the mouth, with more volume but a bit less verve. Finishes fat and long.
Robert Parker – 93
A similar colour to Echezeaux. The nose is more reticent, slightly stalky with a note of damp earth. The palate is very focused with good depth and acidity. Quite rounded and smooth with caressing wild strawberry fruits on the finish, with a note of iron. Very good length. 5 – 10 years. (873 cases produced) Tasted February 2004.
JancisRobinson.com – 17.0
Pale ruby with more development at the rim than the Échezeaux has. Light, sweet, bonbon nose. Hint of violets. Delicate and sweet and with sufficient fruit to cover the tannins. Great balance. Very flattering – the most forward DRC 2001 red. Finishes firm. Charm on the finish even if it finishes dry. A little softer than most DRC 2001s. The easiest to appreciate. Some sweetness.
