Tasting Notes
Robert Parker – 92
A smooth nose of black cherry, iodine and violets. Well-integrated silky palate with wild strawberry and redcurrants. Well-integrated oak though the finish is a little leathery. Very fine indeed. Tasted July 1999.
Vinous – 92
Saturated, bright ruby-red. Sappy aromas of black cherry and black raspberry. Dense, sweet and opulent; this is positively velvety for a ’98 grand cru but has plenty of spicy verve. Very long, spicy finish features substantial, sweet oak tannins and clinging fruit. Compelling and delicious.
