Bachelet’s style is the perfect complement to a big and ripe vintage like ’97 as the nose offers up both pretty and elegant earthy red berry fruit aromas that lead to ripe, rich and sweet medium weight flavors that possess good detail and fine finishing balance. There is enough tannin present to suggest another 5 years or so of upside. Lovely and unusually refined for the vintage. [01/01/2008]
