Robert Parker – 88
Tasted at Roberson’s in London. A deep garnet core with bright ruby rim. The nose has better intensity than I anticipated, with maraschino cherry, iodine, bacon fat and a twist of black pepper and rusty nails. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet entry, a little disjointed, dare I say rustic even with some bitterness towards the green-tinged. It kind of loses its way the longer it stays on the palate and with time, the finish becomes noticeably volatile. Drink now-2011. Tasted April 2009.
Anticipated maturity: 2009-2011
