Bargain of The Century:
A Blend of Richebourg, RSV, Brulees, Beaumonts and Genevrieres

2004 was a unique yet controversial vintage for Leroy. In that year, Madame Leroy declassified all her red wines to village level or below. Many theories from critics exist regarding her reasons, but few knew that 2004 was a somber year for her due to the passing of her husband, Marcel Bize. She revealed that her deep depression made it challenging to maintain her usual interest in her wines, despite her capable team. Some suggest there might be more to the story, possibly involving ladybugs, hail, and other factors. Regardless, it remains a high-quality vintage.

Today, we are pleased to offer Vosne Romanee 2004 from Leroy. Although this bottle is labeled as a village wine, it comprises some of the world’s best vineyards, including Richebourg, Romanee Saint Vivant, Beaux Monts, Brulees, and Genevrieres. It’s definitely not your everyday Vosne Village; rather, it’s a fascinating de facto Grand Cru. This is the bargain of the century.
