Champagne Guiborat: The Expression of Chalk

Champagne Guiborat

Based in the Grand Cru village of Cramant, at the heart of the Côte des Blancs, Champagne Guiborat crafts wines that epitomize the essence of chalk, with vineyards rooted in the deep chalk soils of Cramant, Chouilly, and Oiry Grands Crus, and a small parcel near Épernay devoted to Pinot Meunier.

Although the estate owns just eight hectares, more than half of its fruit is sold to Laurent-Perrier, keeping only the finest parcels for their own Champagnes.

The Vision

For winemakers Richard and Karine Fouquet, the mission is straightforward: to let the distinctive chalk terroir of Cramant speak for itself.

“Our objective is simple: the wine must express the chalk and the year — nothing more, nothing less.”
Richard Fouquet, Winemaker

In the cellar, they employ no malolactic fermentation (except for Cuvée Téthys) and maintain a minimal dosage, preserving the bright, mineral purity that defines this unique chalk landscape. Every step — from vineyard to bottle — is guided by a pursuit of clarity and precision so that each cuvée reflects the quiet power and energy of chalk beneath the vines.

Critics Acclaim

“Serious farming, with cultivated soils and low yields, means these are concentrated, incisive wines that require only modest dosage… these are very serious Champagnes that merit readers’ attention.
The Wine Advocate

“I find these Champagnes super-expressive and distinctive.
Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Our Offer

We are featuring four cuvées, plus the long-aged Prisme Écho, released after eight years on lees. With an annual production of fewer than 2,500 cases, these bottles offer a rare opportunity to experience why the world’s top critics call these Champagnes “serious.”
